Flowers, especially spring ones, are always appreciated for their color. That’s understandable after a long, bleak winter. But I thought it would be a fascinating challenge to get out of the comfy chair this spring, to work in black and white, and to show flowers in an original, maybe even somewhat jarring way.
Much like a plate of perfect fresh asparagus with nothing at all added, without the distraction of color, we can see the flowers below as pure form. Delicate, voluptuous, ruffled, fragile, spiky—stripped down to just themselves, they have a story to tell that’s just as intriguing as their color.
